Georgia Cancer Supporters event to benefit all types of cancers patients

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Cancer Support in Milledgeville plans to host a fundraising event to benefit cancer patients of all kinds.

Leaders with the organization stop by 41TODAY to talk about the Phone-A-Thon event they’re hosting to raise money for middle Georgians dealing with any type of cancer.

The event will be held on October 8-11 at the Childre Nissan in Milledgeville.

According to a release, during the event, the calls from volunteers are to ask people to come in and test drive a car at Childre Nissan during the main event on Saturday, October 11th from 10 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.  If they do, Childre Nissan will donate $100 to G.C.S. for every car purchased during the event.

In 2013, the organization raised $3,000 in partnership with Childre Nissan. G.C.S. hopes to exceed the goal this year.

Georgia Cancer Support helps individuals and families within  middle Georgia who struggle to afford bill payments and those who can no longer work as they undergo treatment.
