2014 Macon Stand Down to help veterans

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Veterans are putting on an event to help those who served our country. Ronnie Miley and Brian Faulds stopped by 41 Today to tell us about the 2014 Macon Stand Down.

Miley and Faulds said this is an event will provide several services to our veterans. Those who attend will learn about health care, housing resources, counseling, legal services, employment opportunities, and much more.

Miley and Faulds say this event is a hand up for veterans, not a hand out. They said it is also an opportunity for the community to come together to support those who served our country.

The 2014 Macon Stand Down is a free event for veterans. It will be on Friday, September 5th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Georgia National Guard Armory located at 475 Shurling Drive.
