Advocates to ‘Walk for Clean Water’
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Water is a natural resource people in other countries may not have easy access to, which is why advocate Mary Huffstetler put together a group called ‘Walk for Clean Water.’
The organization raises awareness of clean water access for drinking, sanitation and cooking in third world countries.
Local residents plan to walk for the cause Saturday, May 30 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. with canisters of water in their arms, on their heads and strapped to their backs to symbolize the walk women and children around the world take daily for clean water.
If you’d like to participate, meet the group at the Macon Water Authority for the 1.5 mile walk to the Ocmulgee River.
