Al Sihah Shrine Center, Macon-Bibb Fire Team Up for Burn Education

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Cherry Blossom Festival is all about fun, but you can also learn something while you’re there too. The Al Sihah Shrine Center is teaming up with the Macon-Bibb Fire Department to teach children about fire safety and burn prevention during the festival. James Piper from Lieutenant Ellen Kicklighter stopped by 41 Today with more details.

The two organizations are providing burn prevention events throughout the Cherry Blossom Festival. Shrine members are handing out information at Central City Park regarding Shriners Hospital for Children and burn prevention and care for children.

The big event is on Saturday, March 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Al Sihah Shrine Park located at 222 Mecca Drive in Macon. There will be clowns, helicopters, K-9 units from the Bibb and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Offices, fire trucks, Shriners classic cars, and much more.

Bibb County schools Junior Fire Wardens will participate in a speech competition on burn preventions. 41NBC’s Ashley Minelli will be a guest judge.
