Annual Green Tomato Festival Celebrates Juliette

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Annual Green Tomato Festival is this weekend in Juliette. It celebrates the city’s fame and the well-known Whistle Stop Cafe! Owner of Purple Hayes in Juliette, Delores Hayes shared what the festival is all about.

She compared it to a country fair with outdoor vendors selling arts and crafts, live music, and fun for all ages. It’s an opportunity to step back in time and enjoy good company and fried green tomatoes.

The festival is Saturday and Sunday, October 26-27 from 10a.m. until 5p.m. The Juliette Opry will be providing live bluegrass music and a concert Saturday night. It is a free, pet friendly event. For more information on the festival, call (478) 992-9996.
