Baldwin County church hosts camps to uplift youth
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Baldwin County church is hosting a camp over the next several months geared at uplifting and motivating youth. Shedrick Ellington is the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church and Maryann Smith is with the church’s couples ministry. They both stopped by 41 Today to tell us about the “Yes I Can!” boot camp for preteens and teens.
The boot camp is for youth in Baldwin County and surrounding counties. The camp’s purpose is to motivate, uplift, and educate our youth for success.
The Shiloh Baptist Church is hosting the camp every third Saturday over the next several months from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The camp is free and lunch is provided.
The following are the dates of the upcoming camps along with the topics covered:
July 19th – Peer pressure, bullying, and self-esteem
August 16th – Teen pregnancy, sex, and STIs
September 20th – Careers, resumes, and dress for success
October 18th – Fitness and nutrition
November 15th – Suicide, depression, and self-esteem
The graduation will be on December 6th.
