Bibb County schools host summer meals sponsor fair

Macon, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Summer is almost here, which means kids are out of school and for those who eat free or reduce meals during the school year, this is a critical time to make sure they have food.

The Bibb County nutrition program will host its forth year of the USDA Summer Program, which makes children throughout the county receive meals during the time when school is not in session. Dr.Cleta Long and Bernice Tukes both sat down with Amanda Castro on Tuesday to talk about the efforts to reach as many children as possible this summer.

The Summer meal sponsor fair begins Thursday, April 17, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Districts Welcome Center Annex, located at 2007-D Riverside Drive in Macon. This years summer meals program dates are Monday, June 2, through Friday, July 18.
