Bibb County students to participate in Magnet School Fair
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County high school students and parents are invited to learn more about magnet programs at the upcoming Magnet School Fair.
Hosted the Bibb County School District, hundreds of students are expected to learn about fine arts, engineering and trade programs from school leaders.
Applications for most high school magnet programs are available at the fair.
According to the District’s web page, High school programs include Central High School IB Programme, Central High School Fine Arts Magnet, Hutchings College and Career Academy, Northeast Health Science Magnet, Southwest Law Academy, and Westside Pre-Engineering Magnet.
There will also be open houses held at each school before the application deadline.
Applications may be picked up at each high school or found on each high school’s web page.
Elementary and middle school magnet applications for the 2016-2017 school year were accepted through December 7, 2015.
Mary Beth Barnes with Westside High School says, "slots for the programs are filling up fast."
The Magnet School Fair is Wednesday, January 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Westside High School, located on 2851 Heath Road in Macon.
