Bibb Students Get Lesson on Environmental Protection

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County middle schoolers are getting a lesson on environmental protection. Tony Rojas from the Macon Water Authority stopped by 41 Today to tell us about the Amerson River Park Environmental Education program.

The initiative was established in 2009 through partnership among several community-based organizations in Macon-Bibb. Approximately 1,800 7th graders will take field trips to the river for lessons on environmental protection and stewardship of natural resources, as well as instruction on the proper disposal of fats, oils, and grease and the value of tap water.
