Career Women’s Network honors Women of Achievement

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As part of Women’s History Month, the Career Women’s Network, or CWN, honors its Women of Achievement. They do it for their achievements and contributions to the advancement of women, their communities, and their professions. Beth Byars joins 41NBC to talk more about a special Women of Achievement Awards Presentation Luncheon Tuesday, March 1st at 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Center at Middle Georgia State University. This year’s honorees are Dr. Linda Brennan and the Honorable Verda Colvin. Dr. Linda Brennan has been a Professor of Management at Mercer University since 1997. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University, her MBA from the University of Chicago, and her B.I.E from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She has been published in dozens of scholarly journals and has authored and edited five books. Verda Colvin is a Superior Court Judge in the Macon Judicial Circuit, serving Macon-Bibb, Crawford, and Peach Counties. She was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal on April 16, 2014, and is the first African-American female appointed to the Macon Judicial Circuit.
