MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You are invited to celebrate Major David Carter, a well known and influential figure in the Macon community. George Fisher stopped by 41 Today to tell us more about the Carter and the upcoming celebration.

Fisher said Carter commanded the JROTC unit at Lanier High School for Boys from 1962 to 1990. While serving there, his unit never achieved less than “honor unit” rating.

Carter was a Macon City Councilman for 15 years and he was elected as mayor in 1995.

Former students, friends, family, and co-workers of Carter are invited to attend the celebration in his honor from July 25 through July 27.
