Celebrate Mercer football during SoConFest

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mercer University is kicking off its first week of competition in the Southern Conference with a big celebration. Carrie Ingoldsby stopped by 41 Today to tell us about the SoCon Fest.

It will be an evening of fun and music on Black Field starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 5. There will be a free concerted headlined by New Orleans based rock septet The Revivalists. It will also feature local favorites sunDollars.

There will also be a pep rally with head football coach Bobby Lamb and several players. A fireworks display is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

Mercer will face Furman Saturday, September 6 at 6 p.m.
