Community Clean Up, Cookout to Help with New Outreach Center

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – South Bibb County will soon be the home for a new outreach house, but first the organization behind it needs your help! Barbara Griggs, the founder of Spirit of Ruth Women’s Outreach Ministry, stopped by 41 Today to tell us how we can help.

The organization is building the outreach center to provide a permanent location for those in need. The group chose to put the center in South Bibb County because it feels that part of the city is being undeserved in many ways.

The outreach center will provide several services, including offering free meals and serve as a platform of connectivity, help, and healing for the homeless, former prisoners, people recovering from alcohol or drug addictions, battered women, abused children, and others.

The organization is looking for volunteers to help clean up the site. If you would like to help, the clean up starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at 748 Villa Esta Avenue. A free cookout will start at noon.
