Cooler Weather on the Way

MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Get ready middle Georgia, a big cool down is coming our way.

Unfortunately, we have to deal with this unseasonably warm weather for a few more days. Today, cloudy skies will give way to a little bit of sunshine, resulting in temperatures climbing above that 80 degree mark again. Overall, we should see our highs today staying in the low-mid 80’s.

Heading into Thursday, a high pressure system over the southeast will help drive out some cloud cover. Temperatures are trending warmer for tomorrow, with highs in the mid-80’s.

We will be watching an approaching cold front on Thursday. While the front will likely bring rain to other southern states, it looks like the rain showers will fizzle out before the front passes through Georgia overnight into Friday morning.

The good news, however, is that this front will cause our temperatures to plummet. Highs on Friday will stay in the 70’s, around 74 degrees in Macon.

Saturday will start off chilly/cold (depending on your sensitivity), with a temperature around 40 degrees. The weather this weekend will finally feel more like fall, with morning lows in the 40’s, afternoon highs in the 70’s and plenty of sunshine.

So just be patient and stick out the heat a little bit longer. We’ll be rewarded with cooler weather by the end of the week!
