Defensive driving course offered to Bibb County teens

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Outreach Section is offering defensive driving classes for teen drivers.

According to a news release, the purpose is to help teenagers make good, sound decisions when driving and reduce the number of accidents and injuries.

The classes are offered throughout July.

To be able to participate you must:

  • Be 15 to 20 years old
  • Have a copy of a valid Georgia learner’s permit or driver’s license
  • Be able to attend each day of class

The classes are July 11-14, July 18-21 and July 25-28 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Training Facility, located on 110 Confederate Way in Macon.

Also, participants must be registered prior to the first day of class.

Officers say breakfast and lunch will be provided each day for students at no cost.

Seats are still available for all three classes, but are limited to 25 students per class.
