Dinner in the Orchard to benefit for Gerogia Industrial Children’s Home

Dinner in the Orchard is scheduled for May 17, 2014, on the historic Georgia Industrial Children’s Home (GICH) campus. 2014 marks marks the third year that the event has been held under the stars, among the 92 pecan trees on the campus. Georgia Industrial Children’s Home is a 200 acre residential care campus located on N. Mumford Road. The program is operated by Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, INC.

The event is sold out, as of this date. Over 160 guests will enjoy an evening of culinary creativity. Chef and owner of Halyards Restaurant, Dave Snyder, will be bring his team up from St. Simons to cater the event.James Farmer, of James Farmer INC., id slated to be the guest speaker.

Much of the success of the event is credited to the fact that the event is a great time for an even better cause. GICH serves 60 youth who are not able to reside in their homes of origin. The campus currently does not have an indoor recreational facility, and this year’s proceeds from "Dinner in the Orchard" will go directly to that project. GEICO is the presenting sponsor for the event.
