Fireworks Safety: Doctor encourages you to stay safe July 4th
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fireworks are a lot of fun to play with on the Fourth of July.
But you need to stay safe while you’re using them.
Dr. Nicole Haig-Jasper is the Medical Director for the Emergency Department at Coliseum Health Systems in Macon.
She says take your family to a fireworks show run by professionals.
If you want to shoot them off at home, have water around to make sure you can put out any fire that starts.
She sees injuries each year in the ER.
They range from burns on your face and feet to the loss of fingers.
