First Friday catches dance fever

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – NewTown Macon is hosting an event it believes is guaranteed to have you up on your feet, and dancing to the rhythm of First Friday’s sounds. 

For the first time ever, the organization is prepping for its ‘Dance-a-Thon Contest’ aimed at getting middle Georgia families, and individuals out for a night of entertainment. 

Erin Keller says so far, there are no rules to the contest, just bring your best pair of dancing shoes, and a good spirit. 

The event will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Cox Capitol Theatre located on 382 Second Street in downtown Macon at 6:00 p.m. 

Keller say participants who dance the longest will receive a gift card to a free downtown business.
