Former Macon schools hold first-ever reunion party
MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – Two iconic former Macon high schools are coming together for the first ever Peter G. Appling & Ballard Hudson and Friends Reunion Party.
Peter G. Appling and Ballard Hudson were the city’s only available high schools for Black residents up until local schools were desegregated. Both ended and merged in 1970 into what became Central, Southwest and Northeast High Schools.
The event will take place at the Anderson Conference Center (5171 Eisenhower Parkway) at 8pm on December 29.
The theme is “Celebrating Two Great Schools” and the event will double as the beginning of a Hall of Fame for both.
Tickets to the Peter G. Appling & Ballard Hudson and Friends Reunion Party are $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door.
