Former NAACP Chairman, Civil Activist to Visit Georgia College

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former NAACP Chairman and Civil Rights activits Julian Bond is visiting Georgia College in Milledgeville this week. Dr. Veronica Womack stopped by 41 Today to tell us more about the free event.

Bond’s lecture is free and open to the public. According to GC, Bond has been active in social rights since the 1960s. He attended Morehouse College and was the founder of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. He organized voting drives and sit ins. He served in the Georgia House of Representatives for four terms and six terms in the Georgia Senate.
