FPD creates after-school program for kids and adults

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – First Presbyterian Day School kicks-off a new after-school program involving not only children, but adults.

When the last bell rings, the school turns itself into a ‘Center for Discovery’ giving students in pre-k through 12th grade a chance to participate in "real-life" activities, like cooking classes, yoga, computer coding and much more.

“We understand that learning is particularly enjoyable when it revolves around a topic that is of specific interest to participants,” said Elizabeth Leslein, Director of the Center for Discovery. “With that in mind, we wanted the Center for Discovery classes to be unique and eclectic so that there is something for everyone.”
According to a release, most Center for Discovery classes take place once a week for four to eight week with new classes starting every week.

Each class begins at 3:45 p.m. or later.
