Golf tournament to raise money for historic cemetery, Bibb student scholarships

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Step up to the fairway and tee off to benefit Bibb County students and the historic Linwood Cemetery. Alice Jackson from the Macon Cemetery Preservation Corporation stopped by 41 Today to tell us about the First Annual Sgt. Rodney M. Davis Memorial Golf Championship.

The deadline to register is Friday, June 6. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards college scholarships for R.O.T.C. students who attend Bibb County schools. The money will also go toward preserving the historic Linwood Cemetery in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood.

The golf championship is Saturday, June 21 at Bowden Golf Course. Opening ceremonies start at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. Lunch will be served after the tournament.

There is a $75 registration fee.
