Healthy eating with Bibb School Nutrition Program
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Parents with picky eaters may face a struggle none of us will ever experience, but getting your kids to eat healthy doesn’t have to be a chore.
Dr. Cleta Long, director of Child Nutrition for Bibb County stopped by to share more. Dr. Long offers three basic tips/tricks to follow when you are trying to eat healthy and have your kids eat healthy.
First, Dr. Long says we all (kids and adults) eat with our eyes. The tip is to cut fruit in various ways, such as cutting oranges into the shapes of smiles. This helps make the food easier for kids to eat.
Next, she says if you can dip it, kids are more likely to eat it. She suggests using healthy dips such as low fat ranch, hummus, or peanut butter.
The last tip she had for us was to be more creative to get kids to try new things.
