Houston County Team Wins State Championship

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After their third year, the Houston County Sharks defeated the West Georgia Wolverines 13 to 1 Saturday. The Sharks won the 2013 State Varsity Handball Championship at the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs State Wheelchair Handball Tournament.

“Our Sharks faced their rivals the West Georgia Wolverines in a rematch of last year’s game, with the Sharks winning 13 to 1. Our offense was on fire, with six players scoring goals in the game” coach Christy Jones said.

This is the Shark’s ninth state championship in five school years.
