Keeping Organized: The Capsule Wardrobe
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new trend is going around social media; a way to limit some of the needless items in life and make things simpler: It’s called a capsule wardrobe, and professional organizer Andi Willis returns to show us what exactly that entails.
A capsule wardrobe is a limited number of clothing items that you wear continuously over a period of time. An example would be if someone only wore 15 pieces of clothing over a span of two weeks, and only those 15 pieces. Andi says most people have between 250 and 500 pieces of clothing in their possession at any given time, and of that number, only 20% of it is usually worn on a regular basis.
Why would someone try out a capsule wardrobe? Andi says doing so can save time and energy in the morning by having fewer decisions to make when getting dressed. It can save money because you won’t feel like you have to go shopping all the time. It will also create space in your house and in your life by eliminating unnecessary items that never see the light of day.
