Keeping Organized: The Junk Drawer
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s something almost everyone seems to have to put up with… the junk drawer. Professional organizer Andi Willis shows us how to keep that particular mish mash of “everything” from becoming a bit more than you can handle.
First thing to do is clear it out. Take everything out of the drawer and set it on a counter top or table to organize it as best as you can. Pens and pencils in one pile, maybe batteries in another, and so on. Anything that you consider to be trash needs to go out right away.
Second is to add containers to the drawer to put your now-organized piles into. The containers will keep everything where they belong after constant opening and closing. Andi suggests to put things you use most often in the front, and items not used so much in the back.
Andi organized her junk drawer in under 20 minutes, and says the key to being organized is to find what you need when you need it. It’s a simple and quick way to make your life just a little bit easier.
