Keeping Organized: Purging your holiday decorations
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Holidays are a time to be festive, and to show that festiveness with a plethora of decorations covering your home from top to bottom. However, after a while, you may find yourself with a bit too many rubber spiders and miniature figures of Santa Claus crowding about the place. So here’s Andi Willis to tell you what you can do with your collections of holiday expressions.
First tip: purge what you don’t need. Andi says the best time to get rid of anything you don’t want is during the holidays themselves. Go through your stash and trash whatever you don’t like.
Second tip is to store them properly. Use clear plastic bins so you can see inside of them more easily, or holiday-specific bins so you know what goes where.
And finally, label everything. The bin of plastic skeletons should be labeled as “Halloween”, while the container filled to the brim with tangled balls of Christmas lights should probably be labeled “Christmas Lights”.
