Keeping Organized: Shuffling through your old photos

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Photographs are a placeholder for some of our precious memories, a catalog of the past captured in perfect moments. However, those collections can multiply and become a jumbled mess inside of albums and shoeboxes. Personal organizer Andi Willis is in to tell us ways we can keep those memories in good order.

If you have a lot of non-digital photos, the very first step is to simply gather all of them up into one place; maybe clear off a desk or a dining room table to see what you really have going forward.

Andi says a very important key to all of this is to make sure you’re storing your photos safely. So don’t keep them in a garage, or an attic where the elements can reach them and do some real damage. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

A photo box is a good place to store any loose photographs you have instead of a shoebox, or just in a stack on top of a counter. Even if they’re not fully organized yet, it’ll keep them safe from critters or falling behind furniture where they can be too hard to retrieve.

Once you’ve got everything in one place, you can go through them and take inventory.

Andi will be providing more tips on how you can organize your memories in the coming weeks, so keep checking back with 41NBC for more.
