Learn Georgia’s history, resources at ‘This Flourishing Grove’

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The community is invited to learn more about Georgia’s local history, and natural resources at ‘This Flourishing Grove.’

Twin Lakes Library System Outreach Coordinator Sarah Hamil says, "It’s a free, fun, family event" where everyone can learn a little more about Georgia’s history, specifically natural resources in Baldwin County.

Arboretum tours, scavenger hunts and craft demonstrations will be part of the experience.

There will also be morning activities for kids and adults at the Lockerly Arboretum, and evening activities at Mary Vinson Memorial Library.

Hamil hopes visitors gain a sense of respect for the environment, the role community members play when interacting with the environment and simply have a great time.

“This Flourishing Grove” will be held Saturday, March 14 at the Lockerly Arboretum on 1534 Irwinton Road from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Mary Vinson Memorial Library at 151 Jefferson Street from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
