Local animal shelters need your help to win big

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Would you like to help your favorite animal shelter win $1000? Here’s how: go to www.shelterchallenge.com, type in the name of your shelter, and if it’s part of the challenge, vote! You can vote once a day.  The voting ends September 21st.  Andrea Reiner from Macon Purrs N Paws says the shelter is in desperate need of more money after being told in July that their lease was ending.  They now have to move to a new building, renovate it and buy a storage area.

Although we have a great relationship with Macon Purrs N Paws, 41NBC covers a large area in Middle Georgia.  Therefore, we compiled a list of all Middle Georgia animal shelters, rescues and humane societies that are involved in the challenge.  There are:
