Local Doctor shares tips and info about Hepatitis

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Today is World Hepatitis Day, and here at 41 NBC, we wanted to share information with a local doctor for our viewers.  Dr. Denny from the Macon Volunteer Clinic stopped by our studio to share awareness about the disease.  A few notes from the interview:

  • Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver.
  • In America, the most common forms of Hepatitis are Types A, B and C.
  • Washing your hands is a great way to help prevent catching and spreading the disease.  However, make sure you wash your hands for an extended period of time (sing Happy Birthday to yourself for an approximate length), wash all areas of the hand, and make the water as hot as you can stand.
