Local man running NYC Marathon to benefit John Ritter Foundation

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tim Ealer felt like he had to do something to raise awareness for aortic health after losing his father to an aortic dissection three years ago.

He joined the John Ritter Foundation, which educates and raises awareness for aortic diseases and health. Ealer says if your family has a history of heart problems, have your heart checked out by a doctor regularly.

Now, Ealer is headed up north this November for the New York City Marathon as a member of Team Ritter. The foundation is an official charity of the NYC Marathon.
