Love Thy Neighbor Event to Help Macon’s Homeless

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – What started off as a small mission to help Macon’s homeless has turned into a big event, all thanks to social media. Tasha Williams is the coordinator of the “First Annual Love Thy Neighbor” and she stopped by 41 Today to tell us how you can help.

Williams says because of the recent cold snap, she wanted to help feed the homeless. She posted what she wanted to do on Facebook and it went big from there. Friends, family, and local business are now supporting her mission to help the less fortunate.

Williams is collecting non-perishable foods, clothing, and personal hygiene items.

The “First Annual Love Thy Neighbor” is Saturday, January 15th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at JD’s Drama and Theater off Riverside Drive.
