Love Week: Online dating tips

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Valentine’s Day may be the perfect time for scam artists to lure their victims into sending them money, or take advantage of an opportunity online lovers can’t resist, according to Kelvin Collins with the Better Business Bureau.

Collins says if you have mixed signals from the person your dating online, look for strange behaviors like: 

1. Pressure to leave the dating site
2. Hasty expression of love
3. Claims of citizenship
4. Sudden major expenses 
5. Change of plans
6. Requests for money

A few other tips if your searching for love online are:

• Never wire money to a stranger
• Put your safety first
• Take time to research individuals
