Macon Kiwanis Club hosts Teen Driving Roadeo

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 3,200 teenagers were involved in fatal car crashes in 2017. This weekend, Macon’s Kiwanis Club is hosting it’s 10th annual Teen Driving Roadeo to teach students about some driving dangers. It’s Saturday, September 28th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Martin-Whitley Educational Complex in Macon.

The students will be taught about the dangers of drunk driving and texting while driving through simulations. Students will also pick up some maneuverability skills by driving real cars. All the driving instruction will be provided by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol. Free lunch will also be provided.
