Macon the Stage highlights local, national artists

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local organization is tapping into Macon’s unknown talent with Macon the Stage.

It’s a talent expo seeking to expose non-traditional and homegrown artists.

It’s June 10 and 11 at the Historic Douglass Theatre.

Clarence Thomas Jr., the Macon the Stage Publicity Coordinator, said this is the third year the organization has hosted the event.

Thomas added the event is tailored to connect the community through the arts and increase and expand opportunities for local artists in the area.

Macon the Stage’s will also serve as a fundraiser to give children summer scholarships.

Lyrical Canvasses cost $5.00 to enter. The closing gala is $25.00.
