MCCG hosting free GERD seminar

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — If you’ve ever had a burning sensation in your stomach or felt like you’re food is regurgitating, you’ve likely experienced gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD.

Commonly known as chronic acid reflux, GERD is the most prevalent gastrointestinal disease in the U.S., according to the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Roy Roberts, manager of the Heartburn Treatment Center at MCCG, stopped by the 41NBC studios Monday to talk about a free seminar the hospital is hosting Tuesday, April 8th.

It’s happening at the Wellness Center at 6:30 p.m. located at 3797 Northside Drive in Macon.

The free seminar will feature discussions with physicians about different forms of treatments for GERD.
