Medical Center of Central Georgia Seeks Community’s Support to Get Music Therapy Grant
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Medical Center of Central Ggeorgia needs the community’s help. The hospital is a candidate for the LIVESTRONG Foundation’s 2014 Community Impact Project. Jill Hancock from MCCG stopped by 41 Today to tell us how you can help.
Hancock said the funds from the $15,600 grant would be used to implement the Jeffery Frank Wacks Music Therapy Program at MCCG’s new cancer center. The program incorporates music to facilitate relaxation, decrease anxiety and stress, as well as enhance wellness and much more. MCCG would also share the program with the patient’s at The Children’s Hospital and MCCG’s palliative care unit.
MCCG officials said they are grateful for the community’s past support and they appreciate the conitnued support.
