Museum of Aviation Foundation invites runners, walkers to annual marathon

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Runners and walkers are invited to participate in the 20th Annual Museum of Aviation Foundation Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk.

This weekend, the foundation and the Robins Pacers Running/Walking Club are sponsoring the three races to benefit the Museum of Aviation.

According to Marketing Director Jenny Cook, it is one of the largest education-focused aviation museums in the country.

Trophies will be awarded to the overall top three male and female finishers in each race, including: masters, active duty military and winners is several different age categories.

Relay teams of six may also enter the marathon.

Cook adds, disposable electronic chip timing will be used for all races.

The marathon starts at 8:00 a.m. The half-marathon begins at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K run/walk will start at 8:30 am on Saturday, January 16.

The entry fees are: 

Early Registration:

      Marathon – $75
      Half-Marathon – $50
      5K – $25

Registration postmarked after December 1: 

    Marathon – $80

    Half Marathon – $55
    5K – $25

Registration postmarked after January 1:

     Marathon– $85
     Half-Marathon – $60
     5K – $30

Registration on race day is between 6:30-7:30 a.m. in the Museum of Aviation Century of Flight Hangar.

Award ceremonies will be held in the Museum’s Century of Flight Hangar at 9:30 a.m. for the 5K, 10:45 a.m. for the half-marathon and 1:00 p.m. for the marathon.
