NAN hopes to increase peace after recent shootings

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After the recent officer involved shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota, The National Action Network (NAN) wants to help bring peace to the middle Georgia community.

NAN’s President Sarah Hunt says the organization wants to bring attention to gun violence and education.

“One strong reason why we have so much gun violence…is because we have so many young people in jail,” says Hunt.

She also discusses the recent shootings involving Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

“I think it’s just an outrage,” adds Hunt.

She credits the use of cell phone video on social media for serving as evidence for these incidents.
