Ocmulgee National Monument Hosts Indian Celebration

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Ocmulgee National Monument will host the Annual Ocmulgee Indian Celebration this weekend. It’s a chance for middle Georgians to experience the Southeastern Native American culture and meet people from various tribes.

The celebration will include artists, dancers, and storytellers who will share information about their culture. It will also feature jewelry and food such as Indian tacos, buffalo burgers, and roasted corn.

Superintendent Jim David says, “It is an event that all members of the family can enjoy.”

The event is September 21 and 22 at the Ocmulgee National Monument located at 1207 Emery Highway in Macon. The party is from 10a.m. to 5p.m. both days. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children and active duty military, and children under 6 are free.
