Our Story: Organizations partner for Black History Month events

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As February marks Black History month, four local organizations are teaming up to present ‘Our Story,’ a two-day event aimed at inspiring and educating the middle Georgia community on African-American history.

Frank Johnson Community Center, Macon-Middle Black Pages, Labor of Love and Helping Hands Community Outreach use the theme "Being Well and Playing Together" to describe the first day of activities.

According to a release, vendors will focus on the improvement of the mind, body, spirit and soul with speakers and a series of role-play events.

The next day will be filled with fun trivia and costume games. Leaders encourage you to show-off your favorite Black Super Hero during this event.

‘Our Story’ will be held at the Frank Johnson Community Center at 2227 Mercer University Drive on:

  • Friday , February 27 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 28 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.
