Sam’s Challenge aims at collecting socks for homeless

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – A family in Perry is asking their community to give back this fall by donating socks for the homeless. Sam’s Challenge is honor of Sam Poss, who was murdered in October 2016.

Sam’s mother, Nicole, says this challenge is not only a way to help people in the community, but its a way to honor her son, who always had mismatched socks. Poss says her goal is collect 5,000 socks.

Zaxby’s in Perry is also holding a “Zax collects socks” event to help with Sam’s challenge. Anyone who brings in a new pair of socks to the Zaxby’s location in Perry on Saturday, November 30th, will get a free cookie.
