Softball pitcher Karsen Ochs wants to strike out batters and hunger

MACON Georgia, (41NBC/WMGT) – Softball player Karsen Ochs stopped by the 41-today studio. She will be a Junior at First Presbyterian Day High School in the Fall. The pitcher has already accepted an athletic scholarship to play softball at The University of South Carolina. Her future is set.

She loves softball, but also loves helping others.

With her Strike Out For Hunger With Karsen Ochs fundraising campaign the fifteen year old has already raised more than $8,000 for the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. This year she hopes to raise more than $6,300 smashing the amount she raised last year.

Last week she won the Most Positive Softball Athlete in the State of Georgia award. Former NFL player, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Heinz Ward, handed her the award.
