Suicide Awareness & Prevention Symposium hopes for more success

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Suicide is one of the top 10 causes of death in the United States.

The 2nd annual Suicide Awareness & Prevention Symposium wants to change that.

Janet Smith and Franchetta Trawick came together to help those who have thoughts of killing themselves.

They also wanted to help people be prepared if they meet someone with suicidal thoughts.

It’s Thursday April 14th at Mikado Baptist Church at 6751 Houston Road in Macon.

It starts at 8:30 with a meet and greet breakfast.

Speakers include Dr. Danny Dixon from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and Dr. Cesar Y. Figueroa from Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health.
