TECH REPORT: Uber stock starts below expectations, Apple possibly considering new colors for iPhone XR
Uber ended up down more than 7 percent, crawling across the finish line with a valuation below $80 billion.
It was a disappointing end to the biggest IPO since Facebook.
It’s stock tumble immediately raised questions about investor appetite for other money-losing tech start-ups that are poised to list their shares.
BITCOIN VALUE IS UP
Bitcoin had a big weekend.
The cryptocurrency jumped a thousand bucks and is now above $7,000.
That’s the highest level this year and huge gain from below $4,000 where it started the year.
HIGHLY PAID TECH WORKERS
Workers at Netflix and Google are getting paid better and better.
The typical Googler earned $246,804 last year – up 25 percent year-over-year.
At Netflix, the median employee made $202,335 last year after getting a 10 percent pay boost over 2017.
That’s median pay which means half the employees make more and half make less.
APPLE COLORS
Apple is rumored to be releasing two new colors for the 2019 iPhone XR, replacing two options for last year’s version of the smartphone.
Digital Trends reports the current options of coral and blue will be replaced by green and lavender.
The other four options—white, black, yellow and red, meanwhile, will remain.
