Tips to organize your junk drawer

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Got a place in your home where you just throw your pens, pencils, coins and other random items you have lying around? Professional organizer Andi Willis shares some tips on how you can straighten up your junk drawer.

Willis said everybody has a junk drawer. The very first thing she suggests is taking everything out of the drawers and sort like with like. She also said you need to throw out the trash and wipe down the drawer.

Instead of putting all the junk back in there, Willis suggests you buy small plastic containers to put your stuff in. She said that way when you open and close the drawer, the items won’t get all jumbled again.

Willis added giving everything a home and knowing where everything is when you need it is her definition of organized.
