Twin Oaks Fun Farm Offers Fall Family Fun

FORSYTH, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Twin Oaks Fun Farm in Forsyth has several family-friendly activities to enjoy this fall. The large farm features a country store, feeding pen for farm animals, and a pumpkin patch. The owner of Twin Oaks, Chuck Patterson, noted that the growing drought in the state of Georgia affected how he grew his pumpkins this year.

“We wound up planting three times before we ended up planting closer to our building where we could give a little bit more attention and care to our pumpkins. And as a result we currently do have a pumpkin patch going.”

The farm grows pumpkins during the fall and multiple types of berries during the spring. You can bring children along to Twin Oaks to feed some of the farm animals. They’ve got pigs, sheep, goats and chickens.

Another activity that Twin Oaks offers on the weekend is what Patterson describes as “hand-fishing”.

“We have what we call ‘kids hand fishing’. Kids get to actually catch goldfish with their hands.” Children have the option to catch and release, or take the goldfish home.

Twin Oaks Fun Farm is open to the public Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from Noon to 6 p.m. The farm is open on weekdays for school field trips only. The cost is seven dollars for kids and three dollars for adults.
