Warner Robins Sickle Cell Support Group to host Black Tie Gala

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Sickle Cell Support Group from Warner Robins is hosting a black tie event in two weeks.

The founder, Vanessa Harvey, and her son, Cedric Carter, stopped by our studio to talk about the event that will raise money for children with Sickle Cell. Harvey explains Sickle Cell is primarily an African-American disease in which abnormal blood cells cause bouts with sickness and in some cases death. The group, Cedric Sickle Cell Support Group for Kidz, helps families in need of emotional and financial support during and after their child’s battle with this unfortunate disease. Her son inspired her to create CSC Support Group for Kidz after he was diagnosed with Sickle Cell.

The event will be September 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the American Legion on Thomaston Road in Macon. Tickets start at $35. The event will include a meal, a fashion show and a silent auction. For more details click here
